The Cassava Fufu of a Rival
40" x 32"
Engraving inks and oils on hardboard

The cassava fufu of a rival in marriage, always contains lumps.

In some polygamous homes rival wifes tend to find faults with the cooking of each other. Some of the unkind comments they make about each other's cooking are not justified because they are prejudiced. The proverb is used in a situation where a person's behaviour of words have been misconstructed by another who is not friendly to him. Insuch situation the proverb is demanding fairness in our judgement of others.
